Easy Shrimp Scampi recipe

Langoustines, also known as scampi in Italy, are pink-shelled crustaceans that look like small lobsters. In the United States, they are often swapped for shrimps. Many versions of this dish exist using either name.

How to Cook Easy Shrimp Scampi

2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
½ cup dry white wine or broth
¾ teaspoon kosher salt, or to taste
⅛ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
1 ¾ pounds large or extra-large shrimp, shelled
⅓ cup chopped parsley
Freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon
Cooked pasta or crusty bread

1. In a saucepan, brown the garlic in the butter and olive oil for a minute.
2. Add the wine or broth, salt, red pepper flakes and black pepper and bring everything to a boil.
3. Once the wine or broth has reduced by half, add the shrimps and cook for 2-4 minutes or until they’re pink-colored.
4. Add the lemon juice and the parsley.

You can serve this dish with a good crusty baguette or with pasta.
