Carbonara is a classic Italian pasta recipe. A filling, creamy, rich, meaty and surprisingly easy sauce to make for when you want some delicious comfort food. This is a recipe that anyone can learn so no excuse for not trying! The authentic version uses cream in the recipe but it is not mandatory.
How to Cook Easy Carbonara Sauce
1 pound cooked pasta
4 ounces of pancetta or prosciutto
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 whole eggs
1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon dried parsley (optional)
1. In a pot, sauté the garlic with olive oil. Brown the prosciutto or the pancetta in the same pot.
2. Add the pasta, make sure they are hot and well incorporated with the garlic.
3. On the side, whisk the egg and cheese. Cover the pasta with the mixture, make sure coats all the pasta. To adjust the thickness, add a bit of water. That’s it! Now serve with parsley on top.
